Skoda Octavia

Skoda Octavia, a successful family hatchback, was revealed at the Geneva Motor show 2013.

The first Skoda Octavia, manufactured from 1959 until 1964, was a reworked 440 (also called the Spartak). In 1996, the next version of Skoda Octavia got its introduction. It was a significant milestone for Skoda’s success, because it represented a new image and expression of the Czech brand. Due to the acquisition by Volkswagen Group, the second generation (2004) was manufactured at the A5 platform also used for the production of for example Audi A3 or Volkswagen Golf. The third generation (2013) is longer, wider and lighter than its predecessor with the goal to provide an exceptional combination of space and enhanced features.

The new Octavia is equipped with the latest vehicle technologies that improve safety, comfort and infotainment.

Several systems make use of cameras that are integrated in the car, think of Lane Assistant, Adaptive Cruise Assistant and Automatic Parking Assistant. For some technologies the camera is attached to the Saint-Gobain Sekurit windscreen. Note that there is a wide range of windscreens available, even a heatable one.

Saint-Gobain Sekurit is the OEM supplier!
